Journey to 1400

Just recently in October 2024, I hit a significant milestone on my chess journey: reaching a 1300 rapid rating on Chess.com. It’s a satisfying achievement, but it’s just the beginning. I’ve set my sights on the next milestone: breaking the 1400 barrier by November 30th, 2024. It’s a challenging goal, but I’m confident that with consistent effort, focused study, and structured practice, I can get there.

Here’s my plan, commitment, and vision for achieving this 100-point climb.

My daily routine will be to focus on two core areas: game analysis and tactics . Here’s what my plan looks like:

  • Play 1 to 2 Games Daily.
  • Analyzing Each Game.
  • 20 Minutes of Tactics Training Daily.

Setting a goal is one thing; achieving it requires consistency. I know that daily effort, even in small increments, compounds over time. Staying disciplined with my routine will ensure steady progress, and analyzing my games will give me valuable insights to accelerate my learning.

Why November 30th? Deadlines provide a clear target and help keep me accountable. Knowing that I have a specific date in mind gives me a sense of urgency and purpose, which keep me motivation to stick with the plan, even when it’s tough.

I think reaching 1400 by November 30th is an ambitious but achievable goal for me. I hope dedicating myself to a structured plan of daily games, thorough analysis, and focused tactics training, I’m confident that I’ll see the improvement I’m aiming for. This journey isn’t just about the rating; it’s about growing as a player and becoming a stronger version of myself.
